Mette Morsing takes over as both Executive Director and Scientific Director of Misum from Jan 1, 2018

Lin Lerpold has decided not to renew her contract as Executive Director of Misum when it expires at the end of this year. Mette Morsing, who came on board as Scientific Director during this year, has accepted to succeed Lin as Executive Director from January 1 and combine this with her present role as Scientific Director.

In the past three years, Misum has under Lin’s leadership supported institutionalization of sustainability teaching into all degree programs at SSE. Misum has been awarded a number of recognitions for their work both internationally in the UN PRME as well as nationally through the Swedish Higher Education Authority. Misum has also been able to establish a strong position in the Swedish business community as the go-to expert on corporate sustainability as well as significantly impacted the political discussion and reflection on sustainability among Swedish policymakers. By means of producing and disseminating research in a way that is truly accessible Misum has a meaningful impact in society.

“It has been a fantastic experience to initiate and lead Misum these 3 years as the exciting start-up it has been, at SSE and in Sweden. As we move forward we will be taking the next step from what has been described as “fireworks” to a “beacon” with the continued development of our research strategy currently taking place. After these intensive and exciting years it is now time for me to step down as Executive Director of Misum to be able to focus on my own research. I very much look forward to continue supporting SSE and Misum and working with all of you in another capacity going forward”, said Lin Lerpold.

“Lin has done an excellent job in starting up Misum during its first three years. We are very grateful for all her hard work and dedication to make Misum a success”, said Misum’s Chairman Björn Stigson.
