SSE AlumnI awarded for best thesis on civil society
Collaboration between non-profit organizations and companies has become more and more common. The authors believe that with shared core values as a starting point and a long-term cooperation, these partnerships can be both rewarding, engaging and sustainable.
The jury’s reasoning:
The thesis highlights a topical issue for both civil society, business and society. By focusing on factors that make long-term partnerships between private resellers (non-retailers) and non-profit organizations possible, the authors combine a theoretically well-founded reference framework with a solid empirical basis.
The authors conclude that it is important to link the cooperation to core business and that there is genuine commitment from management and staff to develop the collaboration over time. They also highlight the importance of understanding and accepting the operation of the cooperation partner. These and many other aspects are presented by the authors in a well-written and interesting thesis that could be of benefit and joy to all parties involved in long-term collaborations of different kinds.
The scholarship is awarded by Forum, Ideell Arena och Famna and was presented by Alice Bah-Kuhnke, Minister for Culture and Democracy.
