The day and evening were filled with historic elements, entertainment and above all, a celebration of science and its contributions to both SSE as well as the science community as a whole. Four professors were installed and one honorary doctor as well as 39 conferment of doctoral degrees. Twelve PhD:s from the 1970's were honoured, marking their fortieth anniversary of the conferment of their doctoral degrees.
