Andrea Sorini

Professor Andrea Sironi is Professor of Banking and Finance at the Department of Finance at Bocconi University in Milan. He was Rector of the University between October 2012 and 2016.

He is Chairman of Borsa Italiana SpA, a member of the Board of Directors of the London Stock Exchange Group and of Unicredit Group. Between December 2014 and 2016, he also served as Chairman of CEMS – The Global Alliance in Management Education. Professor Sironi has held visiting positions at the Research and Statistics Department of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, and at the Salomon Brothers Center, Stern School of Business (NYU), New York. 

He started his career as a financial analyst at The Chase Manhattan Bank in London. Professor Sironi’s research interests include Financial Risk Management and International Banking Supervision. Professor Sironi has also served as a consultant and board member for a number of major national and international financial institutions, including Saes Getters SpA, Banco Popolare, and is a member of the International Academic Advisory Board at Fitch Ratings.
