Basu, Eve-Michelle
SSE Institute for Research (SIR)
I am a postdoctoral researcher affiliated with the Department of Marketing and Strategy, where I am part of a project exploring the commercialization process of biotechnology inventions.
In my research, I am particularly interested in the context within which entrepreneurial activity occurs, as well as how exogenous factors shape entrepreneurial processes and outcomes. In my work, I leverage entrepreneurship and organization theory, as well as novel methodological approaches.
I have a background in Engineering, Management and Entrepreneurship and hold a Ph.D. in Business Studies (Entrepreneurship) from Uppsala University, Sweden. Prior to pursuing my Ph.D. in Sweden, I completed a M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering and Management at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany and studied Economics in the U.S.
At the Department of Business Studies at Uppsala University, I have taught extensively in courses ranging from Business Planning & Development to Corporate Entrepreneurship, Analytics and Accounting in both the Bachelor and Master programs. I also have practical experience from working with Marketing and Sales (B2B & B2C), as well as Market Research, in the telecommunications, retail, electric utilities and steel industries in both Germany and Sweden.
