For the seventh consecutive year, the Stockholm School of Economics has honored outstanding graduates with the Alumni of the Year Award, alongside the Young Alumni of the Year Award for the fourth year in a row. In 2024, the Alumni of the Year Award is awarded to Lovisa Hamrin, Chair of The Hamrin Foundation and Owner and Chair at Herenco. Meanwhile, the Young Alumni of the Year Award is presented to Oscar Rundqvist, Co-founder and CEO of eComID.

Lovisa Hamrin was awarded her MSc in Economics and Business from the Stockholm School of Economics in 1998. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a commitment to curiosity and creativity, driving positive societal change.
As the chair of The Hamrin Foundation and a key figure at Herenco, she has transformed this family-owned company, established in 1865, by embracing a forward-thinking vision: “Always create future.” Under her leadership, Herenco has successfully evolved beyond its traditional newspaper roots. Through The Hamrin Foundation, Lovisa has invested over SEK 330 million in educational and cultural initiatives that bridge academia, society, and industry. Her support for the SSE Art Initiative showcases her commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration. Lovisa’s journey inspires others to leverage their unique talents for societal benefit. We celebrate her contributions to society and dedication to fostering innovation.

Oscar Rundqvist, Co-founder and CEO of eComID
Oscar Rundqvist earned his BSc in Business and Economics from the Stockholm School of Economics in 2016. His career exemplifies resilience and creativity in the dynamic startup landscape. Oscar’s background includes roles at H&M, Lazard and Hitta.se.
In 2023, Oscar co-founded eComID, addressing a critical challenge in retail, online returns. As CEO, he has led the development of an AI solution that helps companies minimize return rates by encouraging informed purchasing decisions. eComID has reached over one million customers daily, contributing to a more sustainable retail environment by reducing waste. Oscar effectively champions the values and aspirations of the SSE community through his resilience, commitment to innovation, and dedication to fostering sustainable trade.
It is with great pride that we commend Oscar for his achievements as an entrepreneur and innovator. His resilience and creativity in navigating the startup landscape have positioned him as a leader in fostering responsible consumer behavior and driving positive change.
