Video, 8:00 min. The artist's personal, almost 20 year old, underwater home videos interpolated by a neural network trained to increase framerate in set multipliers. Equal parts algorithmic animation and amateur documentation of a reef that probably doesn’t exist anymore.

Bio:
Carl Henry Ek (b. 1992) is a visual artist based in Stockholm. He holds an MFA from the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm and has also studied at HDK-Valand and the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. His practice explores the (dissonant) resonance of the analog-digital and the concept of nature in exceedingly digital landscapes.
