Fredrik Wretman

Fredrik Wretman is an artist and sculptor born 1953 in Stockholm, Sweden. He received the Maria Bonnier Dahlin scholarship in 1987 and has been an acting professor at both Konstfack and the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm.
Possibly one of the most established artists in Sweden, Wretman has been comissioned for multiple public artworks and is represented in numerous collections, such as Moderna museet, Stockholm, The National Museum of Contemporary Art, Oslo, Göteborgs Konstmuseum, Malmö Museum, and Statens Konstråd.
Fredrik Wretman started as a painter at The Royal Institure of Art where he studied between 1980-1985. However, frustrated with the fact that his works sold quicker than what he could produce, he developed an in interest for installations. He has, throughout his career, worked with installations, performance art, sculpture, graphics, photography and more. Today, he is probably most known as a sculptur.
