Elin Cullhed is the author of Euphoria, the last book for this year in the Literary Agenda. She was born in 1983 and made her debut in 2016 with the critically lauded YA-novel The Gods (Gudarna). Euphoria is, as we know, a fictionalization of Sylvia Plath’s last year alive, and it´s Elin´s first novel for adults. Euphoria won the 2021 August Prize.
Cullhed became obsessed with the life and work of Sylvia Plath when she found herself in a position similar to Sylvia’s: mother to several young children, wife to another writer, struggling to find space and time for her own work.
Euphoria is set to be published in twenty-four languages and has been shortlisted for the Italian Premio Strega Award and longlisted for the French Prix Médicis.
