Aleksandra Pop-Vasileva - Lecturer
Dr Aleksandra Pop-Vasileva joined the Department of Accounting in August 2021 as a Lecturer and Co-Director of the Accounting and Financial Management Centre of Excellence (ACE). She holds PhD in Management Accounting and Honour’s 1st Class from Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia.
Prior to joining the Department, Aleksandra was a Lecturer in Management Accounting and Control at Monash University, Melbourne and at Macquarie University, Sydney. Her teaching experience spans over fifteen years, across various Bachelor and Master management accounting courses, including introductory, advanced and strategic management accounting.
Her research interests relate to management control and emotions in subcultures with an emphasis on the electronic dance music industry and underground scenes. Her prior research focused on performance management in higher education and professional services examining behavioural and attitudinal implications. She has been published in Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal and Accounting Education, where she has received an award for best paper published.
