Gabriella Ardbo Engarås

Meet Gabriella Ardbo Engarås - Director Sales and Account Management at foodora and Executive MBA alumna.

Why did you choose to study an Executive MBA at SSE?

I wanted a real challenge! I aimed to become a better version of myself, Gabriella 2.0. I sought to enhance my leadership skills, expand my knowledge in finance and general management, gain new perspectives, and boost my self-confidence. SSE was the obvious choice due to its outstanding reputation and international approach, with three out of ten campus weeks held in other countries.

What part of the program did you appreciate the most?

I loved the international context, especially the opportunity to travel to different countries and experience various universities and cultures. I also greatly valued the one-on-one coaching with an executive coach throughout the program. The financial module was particularly beneficial for me.

Tell us about your classmates, and how they have contributed to your learning and broadening of perspectives?

My classmates were fantastic! They contributed immensely to my learning experience. I wouldn’t have succeeded without them. Working as a team and supporting each other was crucial. I found many role models in the class who inspired me. From them, I learned a great deal about leadership challenges, work-life balance, and other important aspects of professional development.

How did the Executive MBA affect your career during and after the program?

The Executive MBA significantly boosted my self-confidence in my professional role. I became an expert in time management and was able to share much of the knowledge I gained with my colleagues, which has been immensely rewarding. I also became more analytical and adept at asking the right questions in the boardroom. Overall, I feel I can effectively leverage my education in my daily work.

Tell us a little bit about what it is you do today.

I work as a Sales Director at foodora Sweden, where I lead a division of 80 people, focusing on developing and executing commercial strategies. Additionally, I am a member of the Swedish management team. Besides my role at foodora, I serve as a representative on the Supervisory Board of Delivery Hero, based in Berlin.
