Data Analytics Track

The Data Analytics Track (DAT) is a combination of existing courses at SSE and is open to all MSc students. Upon the successful completion of the coursework, a note regarding the completion of the Data Analytics Track will be included on the degree certificate.

Have a look at the steps below to understand what you would need to do to get the Data Analytics Track note on your degree certificate. If you have any questions regarding this track, feel free to contact our MSc admissions team directly.

Please note that you are not able to apply for both the Data Analytics Track certificate and the Sustainability Track certificate. These tracks cannot be combined.

Step 1: Take a preparatory course in Python for the track (if you are not already very familiar with this programming language)

The courses in the Data Analytics Track are based on the programming language Python. It is up to the students to make sure that they have sufficient knowledge in Python to be able to succeed in the courses of the track. SSE offers one introduction course in Python, but students are also able to acquire sufficient knowledge in Python via self-studies or online platforms such as Coursera, Udemy, Data Camp or Dataquest.

Step 2: Pass three DAT courses (22,5 ECTS) from a stipulated list.

These courses are currently part of the track. Students can choose maximum one of the courses that contain less programming. Those courses are marked with an asterisk.

Keep in mind that the course list can be subject to change.
