Meet Daisy Garcia – Senior Investment Associate at Prosperity7 Ventures, MSc in International Business and CEMS Master in International Management alum.

Describe your role and what it is that you do overall and on a day-to-day basis.

As a Senior Investment Associate at Prosperity7 Ventures, an Aramco Ventures Fund, my primary focus is on making new investments and conducting due diligence on startups across a wide range of areas from Enterprise Tech, Fintech, Deeptech, Medtech to Consumer. I source and invest in growth stage startups that are reconceptualizing the future.

What interested you about the field/company/role you are currently in? What sparked your passion for what you do?

Critical analytics, intellectual curiosity and international travel were integral components of my scholarly journey studying international business at SSE. Through my Master’s program, I participated in live business projects, hackathons, and international internships with startups in tech hubs throughout the globe.

These experiences strengthened my passion and interests in learning about deep tech and new technologies that will shape the future for generations. Today, I am pursuing a career in Venture Capital with a global fund, Prosperity7 Ventures that provides portfolio companies with the funding and connections they need to scale quickly, enter new and emerging markets, and attain global reach. Prosperity7 is backed by Saudi Aramco, the most valuable company in the world.

How did your time/education at SSE help guide you to where you are now or the career journey you have embarked on?

My SSE education imbibed principles of personal and professional development such as the importance of analytically evaluating one’s performance individually and in a group setting. From working on international business projects with a diverse student body, I have learned to adapt to different work environments and work with anyone, anywhere. This foundation has been critical in the early stages of my career, and I am certain it will help me as I progress in my professional journey.

My SSE degree has become one of the most pivotal pillars in propelling my career forward. Metaphorically the SSE “pillar“, is a bed stone in facing all day today challenges in work and in life, as SSE teachings transcend time, geographies, and boundaries of business and economic models.

This education has been complimentary to my degrees in mathematics and economics from UC Berkeley and has provided me with the perfect launch pad to continue my learning in a professional setting and excel in my career. I thank all the faculty, peers, and the American Friends of SSE for providing me with this amazing opportunity to study in Sweden.
