Introduction day
We welcome all exchange students to SSE with a full day of activities at the start of the semester on August 21, 2026. The introduction day is mandatory for all students and marks your official first day at SSE, so please save the date already now.
The Student Association at the Stockholm School of Economics (SASSE) also organizes social activities during the first days of the semester - a great opportunity to get to know other students and the SSE community.

Course selection and registration
One semester of full-time studies corresponds to 30 ECTS credits. The semester is divided into two study periods, each ending with an examination week. Through the course portal, students register for courses and access their schedules.
Course offerings
- Exchange - BSc in Business and Economics - courses offered
- Exchange - MSc in Business and Economics - courses offered
- CEMS accredited course list
SSE uses a digital system for registration to courses, seminar groups, and examinations: the SSE Portal. Through the portal, students can also access grades and download official transcripts. Login details for the SSE Portal will be sent before course registration opens.
Please note that some courses may overlap in the schedule. We therefore recommend selecting a combination of courses with limited timetable conflicts and carefully reviewing the examination schedule before registering.
Students may register for up to two courses per study period, or three courses if one of them is a language course. Requests to take a third non-language course must be approved by the exchange program manager.
Students enrolled in a three-year Bachelor program at their home university are welcome to take 300-level courses from the third year of SSE's Bachelor program. Please note that these courses follow the BSc schedule, which may differ slightly from the MSc schedule. Students should also review the examination schedule and language of instruction carefully.
Students enrolled in a four-year undergraduate program who are in their fourth year of studies at their home university may, in some cases, take courses at both the BSc and MSc level at SSE. Please contact your Exchange Program Manager for more information.

Would you like to learn Swedish?
Although all programs at SSE are taught entirely in English - and English is widely spoken throughout Sweden - many international students choose to learn some Swedish to feel more connected to everyday life in Stockholm and Swedish society.
The Swedish Institute offers a range of helpful resources, language tools, and study tips for students who would like to begin learning Swedish before arriving in Sweden or continue improving their skills during their studies.
SSE also offers Swedish language courses at different levels for students who would like to learn the language while studying at the School.Even a basic understanding of Swedish can make it easier to navigate daily life, meet new people, and gain additional insights into Swedish culture and society.
In addition, feel free to check out the following Swedish courses as well:
