New collaboration to strengthen Swedish CEOs' abilities in diversity and inclusion

A new collaboration aims to help CEOs in the business sector enhance their work in increasing diversity and inclusion. The collaboration is between Mitt Liv, a leading partner for diversity, equity and inclusion, and the Stockholm School of Economics Executive Education, ranked best in the Nordics for leadership and business development according to the Financial Times.

CEOs for D&I, launched by Mitt Liv three years ago, is a CEO program designed to encourage the business sector to intensify its efforts in diversity and inclusion within their organisations and take responsibility for promoting increased diversity and inclusion in the labour market.

Through the collaboration with Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) Executive Education, the program will now be further developed to include a more comprehensive research basis, and the CEOs who complete the program will be certified. The next group in the new program will start in 2025.

Creating impact in business and politics

So far, three groups with a total of 19 CEOs have completed the program, including Thomas Ekman (Axel Johnson), Elisabeth Beskow (DNB Sweden), Robert Dackeskog (Duni Group), Jakub Jankowski (IKEA Industry), Elisabeth Peregi (Kappahl), and Simone Margulies (Axfood).

The goal for each group is to reach a joint commitment among the companies. The aim is to create impact both within the business sector and politics through a strong collective voice and inspire more to do more.

– It feels fantastic to be able to offer an even stronger program through this collaboration and get more CEOs to take responsibility for inclusion and diversity in their organisations. We share the view of how important these issues and competencies are for business leaders to drive the change that their companies and our entire business sector need to remain relevant and successful, says Lenka Prokopec Karlberg, CEO of Mitt Liv.

Katarina Hägg, CEO of SSE Executive Education, emphasizes:

– Our ambition is to help leaders develop their companies into sustainable and profitable organisations. We know through research and experience that better insights into inclusion and diversity among business leaders contribute positively, and we look forward to collaborating to further strengthen Swedish competitiveness.
