Amil Dasgupta
Amil Dasgupta is Professor of Finance at the London School of Economics and Director of the Financial Markets Group. Amil’s research focuses on corporate governance, institutional investors, and on financial crises. His work has been published extensively in leading academic journals. In addition to having taught at the LSE since 2002, Amil has been a visiting faculty member by invitation at Princeton and Northwestern Universities in the US, at Paris School of Economics and the European University Institute in Europe, and at the HKUST Business School and the Indian School of Business in Asia. Amil holds a PhD from Yale University. He has led a large ESRC-funded research project (2019-2023) at the LSE on the role of institutional investors in corporate governance and systemic risk. Amil holds several external positions including as a Board Member of Cambridge University’s Keynes Fund and as an Academic Advisor for the Reserve Bank of India’s research centre, CAFRAL.
