Auditing at the center of collaboration between Grant Thornton Sweden and SSE
Grant Thornton, one of the world’s leading providers of audit and assurance, tax and advisory services, has entered a strategic partnership with the Stockholm School of Economics. As part of this partnership, Grant Thornton Sweden will become a Capital Partner, increasing their presence at the School and in various related forums.
"Grant Thornton Sweden's vision is to shape the future together with entrepreneurial companies. Many SSE students will go on to start, lead, and scale these companies. At the same time, the auditing industry needs to grow, as it plays a crucial role in business, especially concerning fraud and money laundering," says Henrik Johansson, CEO of Grant Thornton Sweden.
Johansson also emphasizes the need for more certified auditors to review companies' sustainability data as regulations like the CSRD are implemented. He adds, “We want to show how exciting and meaningful the role of an auditor is, now and in the future. Auditors are at the heart of key issues today, like environmental transitions and organized crime. We aim to help develop future entrepreneurs and decision-makers to create sustainable growth together.”
Driving innovation and growth: A partnership for Sweden’s competitiveness
SSE is well-known for its impact on the financial services industry and fostering entrepreneurial skills in its students. Crucial to achieving this goal is SSE's partnerships with the business community, which provide valuable exposure into financial services, strategic consulting, and business development. As a leading business school in Europe, SSE is dedicated to driving academic excellence and innovative research and the partnership with Grant Thornton will further reinforce this goal.
"We’re excited about the collaboration with Grant Thornton, a company that shares our commitment to sustainable growth in business. It’s also great that we’re working together within the Center for Sports and Business, exploring the synergy between sports and business. Here, we can learn and contribute much to society, together with the students," says Martin Carlsson Wall, professor at SSE.
The SSE Corporate Partnership Program
The SSE Corporate Partnership Program was established in 1994 and consists of a network of leading Swedish and international companies from various industries. The cooperation between SSE and the business industry is a strong, mutual relationship, based on a customized collaboration built on each company’s individual needs. SSE is currently collaborating with close to 100 companies.
