Summary

The FREECE workshop on the Political Economy of Environmental Policy, held on April 19th, featured seven paper presentations alongside two keynote lectures delivered by Torsten Persson from IIES and Michaël Aklin from EPFL. The papers presented covered four broad themes important to environmental policy-making: the impact of institutional settings on policy, comparing democratic and autocratic regimes; climate beliefs and climate action polarization; the role of the policymaker; and the distributional consequences of the green transition, highlighting the winners and losers.
